A Real Myst Book – The Virtual Book of Myst Ported to Reality
If the Pumpktris developer managed to bring the classic Tetris into a handful pumpkin, Real Myst Book creator successfully installed all the necessary circuitry and wires to make book of Myst come to real. If you haven’t known it, Myst is another classic game which represents the popular point-and-click puzzle gameplay. Some criticize it for its dull presentation but for its real fanatics, the game remains popular.
It is Mike Ando who is mad enough to waste his time in a long term project just to make his obsession of fully playable version of Myst book come true. Except that it’s way more complex, the overall idea is the same as Pumpktris. While Pumpktris only requires some simple line of codes along with numerous tiny LEDs, a real Myst Book features medium size display supported by decent processor.
Specifically, the display measures 5-inch with resolution of 640 x 480. As expected, it has the touch functionality similar to most smartphone nowadays but don’t expect the same responsiveness. Under the hood is the Intel Z530P CPU clocked at 1.6GHz. This is then assisted with Intel GMA500 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The OS is none other than Windows XP and it is preloaded with Myst Masterpiece Edition, not to say that the other 8 versions of the game is onboard as well.
Sadly, such minicomputer is provided with only 3-cell Lithium-Ion battery, making it to last barely for two hours. So, will you give it a shot or stay with more engaging Xbox games from Microsoft?
