Create Your Own Privacy Monitor From An Old LCD Monitor
If one day you see your friend was looking at a white screen for hours without any image on the monitor, and when you asked him he answered was watching a movie, then there are two possibilities here. First, your friend crazy and need to be taken to a psychiatrist, second, there is something wrong with your eyes and you need to check it to an ophthalmologist. A member of Instructables named Dimovi which also an electrical engineer has come up with an awesome ideas, he has managed to modify an old LCD monitor into privacy monitor which comes with “magic” glasses. So if you want to see what is displayed on the monitor, you have to wear the magic glasses and if you do not wear it, there was only a white screen. check the video below for more details.
Cool isn’t it? if you want to have a privacy monitor like this, there is good news for you, because you can create your own privacy monitor without having to buy it. Here are the materials needed to make your own privacy monitor :
- An LCD monitor of course
- Single use 3D glasses from the movie theater or old sunglasses
- Paint thinner (or some other solvent such as toluene, turpentine, acetone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, etc)
- Box cutter or x-acto knife and a steady hand
- Screwdriver or a drill
- Paper towels
After the above materials are ready, now you can follow the instructions to create a privacy monitor through Instructables website and this also proves that your friend is not crazy and there’s nothing wrong with your eyes.
