Blind date is totally exciting but you’ll never know what kind of person you’re going to meet. To keep positive thinking is good but to believe that everyone is nice and won’t cause you any harm is just silly. During the recent years, reports about someone getting drugged by some nasty dopes have been keeping on the increase. To protect you from any bad intention, Mike Abramson, teaming up with Dr. John MacDonald, has developed DrinkSavvy.

DrinkSavvy Straw : Drug Rape Prevention

In brief, DrinkSavvy is actually a material that can change color when it detects chemicals contained in three most prevalent date rape drugs: Rohypnol, GHB, and Ketamine. Given that there are more dopes sold freely and legally in the market, Abramson promises that the future version of DrinkSavvy will be modified so that it can warn you about these pesky drugs as well. Prior to this, detecting such drugs are almost impossible for lay people as they’re tasteless and odorless.

DrinkSavvy Plastic Cup : Drug Rape Prevention

At the moment, Abramson’s invention is featured as one of the crowdfunding project at Indiegogo. He needs initial fund to help the manufacturing of cups and straws made of his special DrinkSavvy so that it can be commercially available. For $15, you will be given 100 straws and 50 cups. In the future, he also expects that the use of DrinkSavvy will not only be limited to straws and cups but also, glasses and bottles.
