KUBI by Revolve Robotics Takes Video Chatting to New Level
Among the most basic rules about where you should aim your business is finding out what stuff most people are too lazy to do. Apparently, developer team at Revolve Robotics understands this and they decide to build KUBI. The idea is to enhance your experience when you’re having a video chat by providing a holder for your device. Your partner on the other end can control this holder remotely so that she can direct your device to a certain direction and figure out what’s going on around you.
The demonstrative images do showcase Apple iPad but KUBI is actually compatible with any tablets that measure 7.9-inch up to 10.6-inch. For that reason, devices like Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 won’t be compatible with it, so shame on you guys if you own it.Its mechanism doesn’t allow it to turn 360-degree. Instead, it’s limited to 300-degree to the right and left. Still, we appreciate that it can also tilt up and down by 90-degree. The developer has already made the working prototype and you can watch it in action in the video below.
KUBI comes with a complementary app. You will need to install it first; otherwise, the aforementioned mechanism won’t run. Available for preorder, you can help Revolve Robotics reach the funding goal at Indiegogo by pledging $250. By the way, there are a number of typical devices that have been introduced before KUBI. One of them, Botiful, can even walk around and follow you around the house to stay engaged. So, if you ask us, we guess KUBI is not really worth it.
