At this point, you probably have envisioned a geek job full of coding but let me tell you this; using Pixel Press App is as simple as drawing and uploading the design. The drawing stage might not be too simple for some of you but still at least there is no coding to be cracked in here.

Pixel Press : design your own game by drawing it

Pixel Press: Draw Your Own Video Game

To be specific, you will have to print out the Pixel Press sketch sheet that contains preset grids first. On that sheet, you are required to draw five levels of different platform. Of course, since you’re the designer, you don’t have to increase the difficulty level sequentially. Also, you can go crazy with common elements of a platformer like hazards, spikes, power-ups, cliff, etc. Once done, snap your sketch using the app and it’ll be transformed into retro-style platformer without you doing any hardwork. Check out the video below!

Pixel Press is live at Kickstarter at the moment attempting to raise a cool fund of $100,000. The app, however, is only priced for a pledge of $10but you can grab the Sketch Pad for notching your pledge a little up to $25. Oh, by the way, it’s only compatible for iOS devices. The Android version will only be developed if the dev can reatch the stretch goal.
