Water Lock Controls Your Bathtub Tap so You Don’t Have to
How do you like to fill your bathtub while you get on some other stuff, instead of standing right next to it, monitoring it so that the water won’t overflow? If your answer is yes, then you definitely need to have Water Lock installed on your household. In a nutshell, this device is a modified water meter which has the capability of automatically locking your tap.
The need to preserve water without bothering one’s self has inspired designers from Graduates of Institute of Innovation and Design from National Taipei University of Technology to develop Water Lock. The concept itself has its roots on the regular combination padlock.
Users are required to set the desired water volume before turning on the tap. Once done, it will automatically record how much volume of water that has been flowing out through the tap and eventually lock it once it has reached the preset volume; pretty simple, indeed, but it works great.
Best of all, Water Lock doesn’t need any power intake or sort of stuff. The device runs when water runs. Now you can be much more frugal at consuming water while not having to move away from your comfy sofa and favorite TV shows. So far, the concept has won a Red Dot award for best design concept.
However, it’s kind of sad to know that there isn’t any detail about when this will make into production. And don’t expect it to show up at Kickstarter or Indiegogo because Asians are still not used to typical crowdfunding system.
